OUR STORY

 

Centex Realty Group was founded in 2023 by Evan and Kolbey Carpenter, alongside the teams’ broker, Lorrie Kennedy. Collectively, they bring 25 years of experience in the business to Central Texas. Evan Carpenter joined the team’s brokerage in 2021 as an agent in the Round Rock area, where she quickly found value and a place to hold her license long term. Shortly after, Evan met her now husband, Kolbey Carpenter who was also a real estate agent working in the Waco market. It did not take long that he too realized the value in becoming a Classic Agent. As time progressed, Evan, Kolbey and Lorrie decided to open a branch of Classic Realty in Waco and call it Centex Realty Group.


Evan and Kolbey are both longtime residents of central Texas. After graduating from Gatesville High School, Evan went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University in Agricultural economics with a concentration in finance and real estate. She broadened her real estate knowledge by accepting a job as commercial real estate appraiser in Houston, Texas before ultimately beginning her career as a real estate agent in the Austin area. Kolbey graduated from West High School where he more than excelled in baseball. He went on to continue his baseball career with a full scholarship to the University of Oklahoma where he earned a bachelor’s degree in business. Kolbey was drafted by the Houston Astros and played two years with the team before returning home to pursue his career in real estate. 


Over the years, the couple have sold millions in volume ranging from residential, commercial and farm and ranch. Centex Realty’s goal is to be a real estate company where clients can confidentially go for not only their residential needs, but commercial and farm ranch properties as well. Each agent on the Centex Realty Group team is a member of their local association, Texas Association of Realtors and National Association of Realtors. The goal of Centex Realty Group is to provide an exceptional real estate experience for their clients. We know that buying and selling a home or property is not only exciting, but also stressful and emotional at times. The leaders of Centex Realty Group formed this branch and team to work alongside other agents that want to provide the same value to their clients as they do.

Meet our Waco Branch Manager, Evan Carpenter! Evan is a native Texan from Gatesville, Texas. She grew up playing many sports, with cross country and softball being her favorite. A couple of Evan’s favorite childhood hobbies were spending time outdoors riding horses with her family and swimming in the pool with her brothers and friends. Today, some of Evan’s hobbies include hiking, going on runs, and enjoying time at the lake with her family and friends.  Evan is a graduate of Texas A&M University class of 2019. After graduation, she moved to Houston to work as a commercial real estate appraiser. A year later, Evan found her true calling and quickly obtained her real estate license. She then moved to Austin to pursue her real estate career.  She has been a licensed REALTOR® since May of 2020 and helped many families find their dream homes in the Austin area before moving back to the Waco, Texas area. Now, Evan and her husband and sweet cat, Pixie, reside in West, Texas and sell real estate all over central Texas.  Evan is passionate about helping people obtain their real estate goals, no matter how big or small. She specializes in luxury residential, commercial, and land sales.

I was raised in Georgia by a Baptist preacher and an elementary school teacher, then moved to South Carolina for college. Taking care of others in the community was bred into me as solidly as keeping strong family ties. Time on the water, fishing, swimming, camping and hiking gave me an appreciation for nature that I anxiously passed on to my own children. In, 2000, I transplanted to Kemper, Texas to be closer to my transplanted family. A series of clerical positions led me to a career as a Real Estate Law Paralegal before launching into the self-employed life of a Realtor in 2007. Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of helping friends and clients buy and sell homes, horse property, ranch land and investment property. Their success makes my life fulfilling. I am the proud mother of a grown son and daughter and two grown bonus sons, all leading their own lives. Oh! but this MeMaw thing…...someone should have told me it would be this much fun! Glyn and I have been in love since 2009...what a whirlwind of fun! We’ve explored lakes, taken cruises and traveled from one end of the States to the other, finding more and more ways to have fun together. And there’s no end in sight! Beyond work….I could sew all day and then some! My own grandmothers introduced me to this passion. If I’m working on a sewing project, you can bet my house isn’t the most presentable, because I’ve gotten caught up in something more fun! In the kitchen, you can count on my homemade pies and jelly! Fun to make AND eat!
